In discussion with a member of the Rossport Five last autumn mention was made of the fact that he believed the government were planning to make a big, election-winning announcement about the discovery of oil off our shores in time to secure a resounding victory at the next election. This evening I was listening to Minister Michael McDowell on Radio 1 at 5 O'Clock in relation to the murder of the young innocent man last night. This 'Dying Wasp' has an amazing lifespan. McDowell spoke of a research committee on how to tackle organised crime. This so called genius is now almost 7 years in power, between being Attorney General and in the last 5 years, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform......
