The forces that divide humanity issue from religion, tribalism, racism and self-interest. The fact that right wing groups emphasise the ‘virtues’ of these principles clearly identifies their support base and driving principles. It would seem obvious that an assault on the principles that create undesirable circumstances is preferable to dealing with the (disastrous) consequences after the event. read full story / add a comment

TG4 have recorded a piece on our activities at Lunar Samhain. It features my daughter Jessica and many face painted Druids, student druids and friends and has an interview with myself in Irish. There are some nice aerial shots of Tara and of our sacred firebox on Tlachtga and again on Tara. I made their permission to record our ceremonies dependant on including my position on the forced troll road through the high valley between Tara and Skryne. Today I saw the final edit and gave my approval. You can see this footage at "An Tauth Nua" on Thursday, the 12th of Jan at 8pm and again on Sunday, the 15th of Jan at 8:30pm. Give them your feedback - it will encourage them to further break the reporting blockade of the "corrupt government". read full story / add a comment

Adherents aim to find The Secret Of The Universe (also known as The Ultimate Comment) through the science of Metacommentology and the worship of the Eight Gods: The Dimensional Transfunctioner, General Miaow, Triangulon, The Holy Spoon, The Reality Fish, Thomas The Walking Head, A Magical Trumpet Called Bill and The DXM Angel. Right-wing nations are now utilising their new ‘anti-terrorist’ laws. Activists are being targeted and arrested in the US and Australia – who is next? The following information may prove useful in the event of arrest. A ‘friend of mine’ was recently detained for questioning by state police; his experiences were similar to those of others in the milieux. Familiarisation with the procedures and methodologies of our ‘regulatory authorities’ is invaluable in the event of arrest or detention. read full story / add a comment

Annual hunt meeting draws 500 protestors.

Irish Examiner 27-12-2005

by Ciaran Murphy

THE Association of Hunt Saboteurs and BadgerWatch Ireland yesterday urged the Government to follow Britain's example and introduce legislation to ban all forms of hunting with dogs.

The call came after an anti-bloodsports protest at the annual St Stephen's Day hunt meeting in Tramore, Co Waterford.

Some protest groups have warned that the sabotaging of activities will be stepped up at hunting events during the holiday period. read full story / add a comment

THE Government reacted angrily last night after a leading US academic compared Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to a “shoe-shine boy” for President George Bush.
In a scathing attack on the Government’s foreign policy, the influential anti-war academic Noam Chomsky accused Mr Ahern of “shining the shoes” of the US President by allowing US warplanes to use Shannon airport.
