News Release - Issued by Mayo Shell to Sea April 30th, 2014 - For immediate release In a submission to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Shell to Sea have criticised the Irish Government for rejecting recommendations made by the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights regarding the policing of Corrib protest [1]. In a report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in March 2013, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders Margaret Sekaggya, called on the Irish Government to “Investigate all allegation and reports of intimidation, harassment and surveillance in the context of the Corrib Gas dispute in a prompt and impartial manner” [2]. read full story / add a comment

Hopefully you have seen invitation already but if not you are very, very warmly invited to a gathering called ‘Protecting Place’ which will take place on May 17th in Inver, Co. Mayo. On the morning of Wednesday 7th May Irish multinational CRH will hold their Annual General Meeting in the Royal Marine Hotel, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign plan a protest outside the venue. Press reports suggest that CRH are thinking about ditching their toxic Israeli assets which are involved in building the illegal apartheid wall and settlements in Israeli-occupied Palestine.
