Teenage Saharawi human rights activist raped by Moroccan police

Last Sunday Moroccan police in the occupied Western Sahara detained a young Saharawi girl and raped her for standing up against the Moroccan occupation. First they interrogated her, then they molested her and finally the policemen sodomize her with their truncheons. All in the presence of higher ranking officers. The Dublin branch of Irish Basque Solidarity Committees held a protest against repression and torture in the Basque Country on Saturday February 14th in O'Connell Street, the main street of Ireland's capital city. They also linked in with the celebration of the late Bob Doyle, last of the Irish who fought in Spain against Franco 1936 -- 39. read full story / add a comment

In February, the WSM continued its series of public meetings about why capitalism is in crisis and why working people should refuse to make sacrifices to benefit the rich. Limerick and Bray were the latest. We will be continuing our efforts to spread anarchist ideas in this vein over the coming months, with meetings planned for Drogheda, Galway, Derry, Navan, Tralee, Tipperary and Ballina.
