The banks have been given a €7 billion bailout of taxpayer’s money for their greedy risk-taking mistakes, whilst ordinary people are given job losses, wage cuts, a pension levy, a shrinking health service, and cutbacks in education, transport and other public services.

Enough is enough!

Come down to the Bank of Ireland and AIB on College Green, lunchtime on April 1st to ask them for your money back.

Let's give them a queue to remember. Shut them down for the day. Reclaim college Green. Dress up as financial fools. Show them how foolish they are. Fools Party at the bank. read full story / add a comment

In the days leading up to the protest, youth climate activists are organizing a conference called Power Shift ’09. Indymedia contributors should start to think now about how this site will report the strike called for March 30th. There is no certainty that the strike will go ahead, some deal may yet be done to avert it, but if the stoppage does go ahead we need to report it in a way that befits the occasion. A national strike would have profound significance both nationally and internationally. Up to a million people will be involved one way or the other, the world will be watching Ireland. read full story / add a comment
