The Shell to Sea delegation before meeting the ministers
mayo / environment / news report Monday September 29, 2008 21:16 by FSB!   text 6 comments (last - wednesday october 01, 2008 18:37)   image 7 images
A number of groups from Erris and Co. Mayo went to meet with two government ministers, Éamon Ryan (Natural Resources) and Éamon Ó Cuív (Gaeltacht & Community Affairs) in Ballina today. These groups included Shell to Sea, Pobal Chill Chomáin, and Pobal le Chéile; a number of Erris fishermen accompanied by the parish priest of Kilcommon also met the ministers despite not having been invited. The ministers also met with the Pro- Gas Mayo Group and the Council for the West, organisations that could be candidly described as ‘astroturf’ (i.e. fake grassroots) and stalking horses for Shell. Following these encounters, the ministers met with the TDs for Mayo and county councillors from Erris, to round off what was a cynical PR exercise by an alarmed clueless government. read full story / add a comment

Yes, you find it in the papers all over Europe and today in Belgium in de Morgen .....but is it true?

Declan Ganley is initiator of the No means No campaign in Ireland. Cohn Bendit (green party EU parliament) and his Anti-American friends try with a personnel attack to save the European Union as it is, by asking an EU investigation on the legality of this No campaign. read full story / add a comment

Besides highlighting EU hypocrisy in turning the blind eye to Israel's egregious violations of the Agreement, the Euro-Med Agreement, which economically privileges rogue state Israel with access to the EU market ( "Relations between the Parties, as well as all the provisions of the Agreement itself, shall be based on respect for human rights and democratic principles, which guides their internal and international policy and constitutes an essential element of this Agreement.") the other concern of the Free Palestine Campaign at last Saturday's info stall in Shop Street was Zionism's collusion with Nazism and the betrayal of the Jewish people leading up to and during the Holocaust . read full story / add a comment

Pirates Granuaile and Mad Maguire M.C. ed a fabulous array of local talent and general madness last thursday night in the Victoria Hotel in Cork. They also proved superb at evicting a troublesome man known by us to have Nazi involvement ! It was great to see lots of new faces at this fundraiser for shell to sea after the past few weeks of intense activity.

The recent arrests of activists from the left independentist movement in Northern Euskal Herria, demonstrates the war strategy of the French State. The French state is taking its strategy from the Spanish, working hand in hand with the Spanish State in an attempt to end the liberation movement.
