The Sixteen Day Campaign for stopping Violence Against Women is set for the 25th November to the Tenth of December 2007. Lip Service and Tokenism abound here, but it is a period that internationally women address Safety, Violence, Rape, Women's Aid and of course, how our divided societies create a wealth class of pseudo-feminism and an opposing class of community activism based wholly in gendered stereo-typing and money, or to be politically correct about it how we make our daughters second class citizens by ignoring their Basic Rights. http://www.indymedia.ie/article/82605 read full story / add a comment

Tony Blair had self-nominated David Miliband to take up the cudgels of office in the wake of his departure from office, but apart from creating a few little ripples the whole idea was a non-starter for Blair and for Miliband. He got placed, instead in Britain's Foreign Office and last night he began to use his office to 'make speeches' , which are both unbelievably crass and inopportune. They involve beligerence against an already pissed off Putin and a diplomatic word to 'Keep our promises to Turkey', meanwhile in Turkey, a political party with connections to the PKK is being banned. We all know what that means in Ireland.. Reductio ad Absurdum.:Reduce debate, achieve political consensus and sell off assets to benefit the wealthy. read full story / add a comment

The Workers Solidarity Movement held its Autumn 2007 National Conference in Dublin on the 3rd/4th November. National conferences take place every six months and are the prime decision making body on positions and priorities for the organisation.
