This is a link to a story published on one of the Women's sites in October 2006, by a Polish activist and rights campaigner. She was delighted with the ability of women to work in unity over shared areas of concern which normally would not be in their political interests, but the results of globalised economy and cultural debasement had made the interests of unity pertinent to all the women who worked together. The image is of campaigners who worked on justice for the dissappeared in Guatemala, their campaign against debasement is ongoing. read full story / add a comment

The Dublin social centre, Seomra Spraoi, will be homeless again from May 23rd. The social centre has been located on Lwr Ormond Quay since August 2006, but is currently seeking a new home, as the owner of the building is planning to sell up. read full story / add a comment

While others canvass to gain entry to the Rich Man's Palace, there were others that remembered that every May the 1st is the day to remember workers' and working-class communities' struggles across the world and throughout history. The electoral Left can go play with Bertie, Inda, Pat, and Trevor 'the sustainable capitalist'. The rest of us will make do with a small, yet determined and vibrant parade this Tuesday evening, starting shortly after seven at Connolly Hall (the most pointless building in the city, methinks) and finishing with speeches at Daunt Square.
