The Indymedia Ireland feature length documentary on the protests against the G8 in Genoa in July 2001 - Berlusconi's Mousetrap - (at very short notice) will be screened outdoors on a big fuck-off screen in Eyre Square as part of the Galway Film Fleadh on Thursday 10th July at 8pm. Yesterday the Salthill airshow came to town bedecked in all its military grandeur. While supposedly billed as an airshow it is in fact a miltary show, which glamourizes the machines of war and desensitizes people to their awful capabilities. read full story / add a comment

The "official" the end of the Iraq war was announced by George "I'll willing to let other people die for my country" Bush weeks back. Someone should tell the Iraqis. Almost every day, the US body count increases and Iraqi resentment and hatred of their "liberators" grows. Pretty much as would be expected, given the real reasons for US intervention. read full story / add a comment
