This is the text of the talk I gave a couple of weeks back at the Irish Social Forum. A number of workshops were merged into that one, the SWP had requested one on the Party and the Anti-Capitalist movment, ourselves on anarchism, and somebody else on alliances, fronts and left organisations. So this talk concentrated on introducing anarchist ideas on and left it up to the discussion from the floor afterwards to see where things went. Kieran Allen of the SWP and Dermot Connelly formerly of the Socialist Party spoke from a Marxist-Leninist viewpoint. In the face of the state's uncompromising attitude, the prisoners started the Death Fast (a form of hunger strike). Because isolation and torture mean death. Over the last couple of weeks there have been action at Jurys hotels in Ireland and in Britain in the build up to this Tuesdays protests at Jurys Berkeley Court Hotel, Ballsbridge at 5pm.
