Obama who we note is not upsetting the inter-regnum by being presidential change boy when it comes to Gaza, has today named his future head of the CIA. That chap will get articles in the commercial press tomorrow and be assured a really high tech version of google earth after january 20th. But this article being of a tongue in cheek variety wishes to bring readers attention to Obama's appointee to be the director of national intelligence, a post created by Bush for Negreponte after Iraq which in theory allows one bloke or name to oversee the 16 US secret services.

Only one name could do that. yep it's another Blair. read full story / add a comment

Following widespread anecdotal reports and some media reports of the Palestinian Authority unleashing its security goons in the West Bank to suppress the spontaneous demonstrations in support of Gaza following the Israeli attack - I experienced a smidgeon of this in Hebron last Sunday week when a uniformed PA person attempted to stop my videoing - I decided to attend yesterday's demo in Ramallah organised by Fatah and the Peoples Committees to delve further.

Today up to 3,000 people march in Dublin in solidarity with the people of Gaza who have suffered a week of Israeli air-strikes that have killed over 430 people and left over 2,000 injured, and who now face the threat of a full scale ground invasion. The protest called for an immediate end to Israeli attacks and war crimes, and an end to the criminal siege on Gaza. During the course of the protest news came via a link up to Gaza that the Israeli military had begun firing artillery along the Gaza border. The protest was loud, colourful and angry. read full story / add a comment

Readers of Indymedia Ireland have a short time to take advantage of global lapses in copyright infringement to enjoy the movie "Religulous" on the Chinese video sharing website "megavideo".
That site will of course be forced to remove the vid within the next fortnight, but ye've time for now.

& not pay a penny, sheckel, talent or centimo of a Euro, Dollar or reconstituted Reichsmark for it.

Religulous is a 2008 American comedy/documentary film written by and starring political comedian Bill Maher and directed by Larry Charles. According to Maher, the title of the film is a portmanteau derived from the words "religion" and "ridiculous"; the documentary examines and satirizes organized religion and religious belief. read full story / add a comment

Dear Ambassador

Further to my telephone call to your office this morning I wish to reiterate some of the points which I made in the conversation with your secretary, and to elaborate on them a little further

1 I am sick to the teeth of the lies you are telling on RTE and in the Irish media about what is happening in Gaza. Israel has killed over 400 people there on the pretext that a cease-fire had been broken unilaterally by Hamas.

You know this is not true.

2 You said that Israel is trying to avoid civilian casualties but that Hamas place their civilians as shields for Hamas soldiers. You know that this is not true. Gaza is smaller in area than our smallest County, Louth, and is over-populated with 1.4 million people before your country reduced the population with murder from the sky.

3 Your Army invaded Gaza prior to en election and in the interregnum between the Presidencies of George W Bush and Barack Obama.
