Dublin Shell to Sea are delighted to invite all our supporters to enter our second Revolutionary Kick-Off, a five-a-side soccer tournament. While teams are generally based on involvement in political campaigns or organisations but its not in any way essential and individuals are very welcome to register and play on a S2S team. Apart from raising much needed funds for Dublin S2S, the tournament promises to give all participants a great day out and provides lefties with an opportunity to engage in some healthy competition away from the ballot boxes. :) read full story / add a comment ![]()

"Internationalist initiative" is a political alliance grouping formed to contest the EU parliament 2009 elections in the European constituency of the Spanish state. Its leader is the 93 year old, Madrid born, writer, dramatist, script-writer and Spanish film-director Alfonso Sastre, perhaps best known for being a member of the "1955 generation" of creative artists whose output and activity coincided with the opening of the Franco regime's attitude to art and literature which came along with its acceptance by the west under Eisenhower. Mr Sastre was also third on the last list presented by ANV the illegalised Basque political party deemd to be a proxy of Batasuna. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Ken Loach : 'Katie Barlow’s film Visit Palestine is both a devastating account of daily life for Palestinians and a fine portrait of a brave and selfless Irish woman who lives with them. No-one talks politics yet it is a deeply political film. You are left with a burning anger on behalf of those who bear the occupation of their land and appalling military oppression with such fortitude. Israel, the U.S. and their apologists stand indicted and, on this evidence, convicted' The Guardian : '...a passionate indictment of the Israeli military in the Jenin refugee camp...this is raw, urgent movie-making' read full story / add a comment ![]()

Since 2001 there have been 12 Grassroots Gatherings In Ireland with most of the big cities seeing at least one. Probably 1000 people have attended at least one but we've had a problem keeping contact with each other between gatherings. There are a scattering of email lists and web site from the different gatherings, some active and some silent. Now there is a new hub site http://grassroots.pageabode.com which attempts to gather all this in one place to improve communication. read full story / add a comment ![]()

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) were present at this year's Mayday march in Dublin City. The IPSC formed one of the biggest contingents in a very poorly attended demonstration. I can't say for definitely, but it was suggested, several times by different people in attendance, that this was the smallest Dublin mayday march ever - why this was the case is not for me to say. read full story / add a comment ![]()
