On the evening of Tuesday 30th March the IPSC in Dublin will commemorate Palestinian Land by holding a solidarity picket outside the GPO on O'Connell Street from 5 - 7pm. This year we will be marking the continued Palestinian resistance to Israel's ongoing ethnic cleansing and land theft operations in Palestine. We ask you to join us for a couple of hours to stand in solidarity with the residents of Sheikh Jarrah, Bil'in, Nil'in, Neve Tirtze, Iraq Bourin, ‘Awarta (the latter two villages saw the murder of 4 Palestinians by the Israeli army over the weekend) and the many other towns and villages resisting colonisation by the Israeli State. read full story / add a comment

Paulette Schroeder writes about an Israeli tactic of kidnapping Palestinian children and falsely charging them with crimes. These children are then convicted and imprisoned by the Israeli kageroo courts. Full text at link.

I am most concerned these recent weeks in Hebron. Young teens and even smaller children are disappearing from our neighbourhood in the Old City of Hebron. It's not by kidnapping. It's not by trafficking. It's not an unknown person with a criminal record perpetrating the crimes. Rather, the Israeli military is again pressing its boots down harder on the heads of the Palestinian people. If restrictions on travel and commerce, land confiscations, home invasions, and forced business closures have not succeeded in convincing Palestinian families to leave their land, then MAYBE taking their children will. read full story / add a comment

Next week 27 people will face hearing in court in relation to protesting against the Shell's inland refinery and experimental pipeline. A week has been put aside in Belmullet District as a Shell to Sea "special sitting" but as Judge Devins said when putting some in some people for hearing dates, “no preduice can be seen because of its being put into the special sitting”. read full story / add a comment

-Nothing unless sanctions are applied against Israel and the UN courts come out with less ambiguous deliberations .

Tonight, Tuesday March 16th, marked the beginning of the "Mobilising Youth: A Conversation with Israel and Palestine" tour which runs nationwide until March 25th.

WEST BANK, PALESTINE: Bil'in village, the internationally renowned centre of Palestinian non-violent resistance to Israel's Apartheid Wall, was this morning - 15th March 2010 - declared a 'Closed Military Zone' by Israeli Authorities, meaning that access for International and Israeli anti-Wall activists is outlawed for six months. Furthermore, the head of the Popular Committee in Bil'in, Iyad Burnat, received a phone call from the Shin Bet - Israel's 'internal security service' - ordering him to report to Ofer Military Prison for questioning. read full story / add a comment
