Resistance: which way the future? is a dual-screen interactive installation, comprising drama and documentary films and an immersive audio-video experience. It takes as its starting point the Nazi programme of mass-murder targeting disabled people and asks what this history means for all of us today. A timely and hopeful work, Resistance explores the marginalisation of a group of people and asks what can be done to make a better future. Recently returned from its run at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, one visitor wrote: “One of the most powerful things I have ever experienced. I was so amazed by it, I went back to see it two more times. Each time I saw more and took more away from the experience. A month later it is still with me.” Susan Fitzmaurice In association with ABÄRA International Disability Film Festival read full story / add a comment ![]()

Anne Thompson SIPTU, Belfast SIPTU joined with thousands of other trade union members, workers and those currently struggling to get a job on the 23rd October at Belfast City Hall when the public made a clear stand against Tory government imposed cuts. The reckless slash and burn cuts by the Tory government will not as they claim, pave the way to recovery but rather lead the way to mass immigration and increase the extreme hardship faced by working families and the most marginalised and disadvantaged in society, while their banker mates are propped up by criminally extortionate salaries, bonuses and enhanced pensions enabled by the saviour of good honest tax payers monies - our money. read full story / add a comment ![]()

As Usual, Not much publicity at all on the MSM about this date..Obviously a date and a sentiment the establishment would like us to forget, but in light of the recent austerity measures both here and in Britain and the rise of the conservatives again as a force to be reckoned with in British politics, Here at indy, we think this event needs to be remembered.
