Word is out right now that Fine Gael—should they get into government—are going to reverse the hard fought ban on the Ward Union carted stag hunt. Should the party get their wicked way and repeal this only piece of legislation, it will set our movement in Ireland back and will cast a dark day for all campaigning to bring about an end to cruelty to animals. read full story / add a comment

The past World Week for the Abolition of Meat from 22 to 29 January 2011 - the very first WWAM of the year - was a success. Varied events (such as street actions, silent demonstrations, "human" meat tray actions, protest marches...) were organized in over 70 towns and cities, mainly in Europe, but also in South Africa, in both Americas, in India as well as in Japan (here's the list). These events were largely covered in the media.

Please print AFAR's poster calling on all voters to make use of their vote to keep Fine Gael out of power.

The majority of normal people do not want Stag hunting legalised again, even if the ban is not being enforced.

Place this poster in a prominent place to let people know how cruel they intend to be , that is if they get into Government.
They want STAG-HUNTING back!!! Its really unbelieveable. read full story / add a comment

With the election coming up many people are planning to firmly boot Fianna Failure out and there is strong indications that people are not happy with any of the main parties. Therefore we should see the smaller parties and the independents having a real chance. But do they or can this unravel because of the way we pick our preference votes? read full story / add a comment

Dan Boyle, formerly Bertie Ahern's choice for senator, is running for election in Cork South Central once again. This means he has to present a justification of his and his party's record as part of this government we've suffered for getting on four years. One of the ways he has been doing this is through his election literature, some of which I received in the post only this morning. After reading it, I must say I was surprised at the level of grandiose self-delusion on display in this leaflet! read full story / add a comment

A decade after the process was begun to impose an experimental raw gas pipeline and refinery on the people of Erris we are entering into the final stage of the battle opposing its construction. Shell are about to attempt to lay the onshore pipe. Shell always expected this to be the most difficult part of the struggle which is why they left the attempt to build this section of pipeline till last. Dublin Shell to Sea are asking you to come to a meeting to plan how we can resist this final stage. read full story / add a comment
