Community Groups around Ireland will protest in towns, cities and villages across Ireland about the water charges on Saturday 31 January. Seek them out and join them!
The Dublin local groups are planning to all meet up in the City Centre,
Please join the protests and keep the pressure up. The temporary lower charges introduced by the government will be withdrawn after the next election and all waivers and allowances will be abolished if they privatise Irish Water which IS their plan. They later plan to charge for waste water! This is on the cards. We must stop abolish these charges and stop this disgraceful act. read full story / add a comment ![]()

After 14 years of challenging the oil and gas industry in north Mayo, what knowledge does the community there have to share? What questions might other communities have and how might they benefit from the experiences of those standing up to Shell and the State? A four-year research project (2010-2014) in the parish of Kilcommon, northwest Mayo, sought to identify and share useful knowledge from the experiences of challenging the Corrib Gas project. This has been used to create an exhibition in which people respond to the question: If you could say one thing to other communities facing an unsafe development planned for their area, what would it be? read full story / add a comment ![]()

K-Tech Security are heavily involved in the forceful evictions of families from their family home. Having previously assured concerned citizens they would desist from this immoral practice they have reneged and are presently trying to evict a family from their land. We are calling on the City West Hotel to no longer use K Tech for the Irish Country Music Awards on Monday, January 26th as part of a wider national campaign of calling for boycotts of K Tech Security. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Spun as an anti-Semitic affair in light of Friday’s events at the kosher supermarket, the majority of the mayhem’s victims in fact fell on Wednesday in the Charlie Hebdo massacre, framing events rather in the light of NATO’s past Gladio false flag anti-Communist operations in Western Europe and exposing both the spin and events as the most corrupt of manipulations. read full story / add a comment

This is an extremely important story and should be the final wakeup call to the public at large over the real dangers of weedkillers and GM crops. Even though the study applies to the USA, and generally we have GM food labeling, our animal feeds very likely contain significant amounts of GM crops. Also Roundup itself even on ordinary crops is used widespread both in agriculture and in gardens. It is highly likely we are all regularly exposed to residues of this weedkiller, although in all likelihood at the moment this is probably more prevalent in the USA where the situation is a lot worse. However, there are continual efforts all the time to introduce GM crops into Ireland and both FF and FG have given their support to the corporate lobbyists promoting its use. Hopefully news like this just might stop it in its tracks but it won't do anything for the tens of thousands of families already affected by autism read full story / add a comment ![]()

The fake "banking enquiry" is now underway and for those interested in the charade, Jordan Shilton has published a concise and incisive article on the subject on WSWS.org. I have republished it here as there is much deliberate sleight of hand and misdirection on this topic by the political elites and their henchmen in the media and it is important that such articles gets to a wider readership in the interests of truth and clarity on the subject. read full story / add a comment ![]()

On Thursday night RTE Primetime presented what many have described as a 'regime broadcast', an utterly transparent hatchet job of the anti-Water Charges campaign. This featured, supposedly, an anonymous water meter installer describing being accosted by knife, hatchet, baseball bat, and golf club wielding maniacal protesters – the sinister fringe. The core message transmitted in the program was 'you can protest, but don't protest effectively'. If you watched it (link below), what did you think? read full story / add a comment |
