The band, known for the heavy political content of their albums and live shows, are touring to promote their latest album “Potemkin City Limits” their first release in over five years. Last weekend the Socialist Party in Ireland held Socialism 2006, a weekend of debate and discussion, in Dublin. The event got off to a magnificent start on the Friday night as 280 people packed a room to hear Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins debate with well known economist, journalist and author, David McWilliams on ‘Is there an alternative to the capitalist market?’.

Before it went on release, 'critics' who had not seen it, denounced Ken Loach's The Wind that Shakes the Barley. The London Times critic compared it to Nazi propaganda - ironic considering the role of ex-Black & Tans in reactionary and fascist politics in Britain. In the Daily Mail Ruth Dudley Edwards asked: "Why does Ken Loach loath his country so much?" - a question better addressed by Ruth to a mirror. They have returned to the Cathedral and are being refused re-admission..
He is currently outside the Cathedral in the rain..
