The Danish civil disobedient, Ulla Røder, has written a summary of events in Denmark, including the delivery of a declaration of support for the Pitstop Ploughshares activists to the Irish embassy in Denmark.

Ulla herself will be in court in Denmark this week for the conclusion of a case against her and four other activists who last November held a demonstration in the Danish parliament against Denmark’s continued participation in the war in Iraq. read full story / add a comment

On Thursday we held our silent protest as all members of staff went to the 'Questions and Answers' meeting regarding the proposed closure of our Thomas Street campus... The silence lasted only until the meeting began, to be followed by 3 hours of colourful and noisy opposition to the move! Hundreds of students lined the corridors around the meeting and shouted slogans, many directly to Colm O'Briain, the director of NCAD, one of the main men involved in the proposal of this plan. As of yet, there's no official word from the government in relation to the move.

Local Councillor's have been contacted and many are in opposition to the proposed plan, and will meet with City Council officials and Colm O'Briain on November 11th.

In relation to spin-off's question: "I wonder have the SU contacted those "suppliers" and "small businesses" &c.., in the area to ask them about their views on losing their customer base? Quite probably budding artists will remain loya read full story / add a comment

I find European Commission working too slow in this issue; anti-discrimination groups and unions don't seem to me to be taking it seriously enough, the general public is uninformed. At best, people show not much interest.

LABOUR leader Pat Rabbitte has been summoned to appear before a Complaints Committee of his own party.

It is the first time in the history of the State that a party leader will be investigated by his own party. If the complaint by a councillor, which accuses him of "acting in a manner unbecoming of a Labour Party leader" is fully upheld, he could face suspension or even expulsion. read full story / add a comment
