"To endanger such a place is a symptom of the greed, corruption and disrespect being shown for nature, people and our environment. The solution to this controversy is to re-route 7 km of the double- tolled Motorway, but it seems that vested interests in this area have been preventing the consideration of any alternatives. The conviction of Michael McKevitt was far from the finest hour of our judicial system. The latest revelations leaves no doubt that he was unfairly tried and convicted through the pages of the print media long before he appeared in Court. Under such circumstances, the media and Mr Mooney in particular must have the moral courage to undo the damage done in this case. read full story / add a comment

RBB cited the Party's "socialist roots" while Higgins said Labour are not a working class party and will not turn socialist. read full story / add a comment

Not prepared to weep crocodile tears, not prepared to wallow in vicious hypocrisy, instead, Galway IPSC did an eight hour slog outside Lynch's castle, Shop st, yesterday, in an attempt to wean people away from the 'aul sins of indifference and apathy towards the plight of Palestine and, instead, do something ; from boycotting Israeli Blood Diamonds, spuds, herbs, plastic garden sheds/containers sold by the Grafton Group (Atlantic Homecare/Woodie's DIY stores) to expressing their outrage to TD's, mainstream media, etc, on the obscenity of an Irish company; Cement Roadstone Holdings, profiteering from the construction of the illegal West Bank Apartheid Wall. read full story / add a comment |
