Aer Lingus and government betrayal - Unions must act now! There was palpable anger at a meeting of Aer Lingus workers at a meeting in Shannon Airport where Aer Lingus Chief Executive, Dermot Mannion, officially announced the move from Shannon to Belfast. Workers jeered, heckled and booed Mannion during his speech and many workers walked out of the meeting when Mannion indicated that he would not answer questions from the workers. read full story / add a comment

The tents that, anti-war ikon, Brian Haw and supporters sleep in to maintain the 24 hour peace vigil in Parliament Square, have been removed by the Greater London Authority this morning with no warning. A fence has been put up around the grass. Ken Livingstone's Greater London Authority is saying that just one tent, Brian's, can remain. read full story / add a comment

The National Roads Authority (NRA) has submitted a copy of the Directions given by Minister Dick Roche, for the excavation and demolition of the national monument at Lismullin, to An Bord Pleanala. Originally, the Bord required said a decision would be reached by December, but stated today that they expect a decision next week. read full story / add a comment |
