* the crime of the hand by wounding or stealing
* the crime of the foot, by kicking or moving to do evil deeds
* the crime of the tongue, by satire, Slander and False Witness
*crime of the mouth, by eating stolen things
*the crime of the eye, by watching while an evil deed is taking place

Brehon Law existed in Ireland until the final Tudor conquest in 1500.
The Irish had their own form of Criminal Justice System. The Brehon laws was based on its own form of restorative justice. These laws were replaced with the harsh retributive system of the coloniser!

Today, Feb 11, 2005, a US airforce C 130 landed at Shannon, also expected later were some hundreds of US troops on chartered flights to and from Iraq, and other likely air trafic over the weekend will be executive type jets, carrying either so-called VIPs of the US administration or kidnapped prisoners for torture. All should be arrested, but none are likely to be, except that is peaceful protesters who object to unlawful killing. read full story / add a comment

The fifth World Social Forum (WSF) which took place last week in Porto Alegre, Brazil was a vital event for all those who are concerned with the state of the world. The WSF showed clearly that five years on from the Seattle protests, the ‘alter-globalisation’ movement continues to grow in strength and importance. 120,000 registered for the forum, almost 200,000 took part in the opening march and three hundred and fifty two proposals and calls for action came out of the more than 2000 panels and workshops that took place. read full story / add a comment

In February, trials against squatters of the Harkortstrasse in Hamburg (action took place in September 2003) continue meanwhile new trials open against squatters of the Hafenstrasse - action from April 2004, where around 100 trucks and other vehicles blockaded the Hafenstrasse. read full story / add a comment
