It has been reported that large numbers of US troops have been staying in hotels in the Limerick/ Shaanon region. Apparently as a result of the breakdown of one of the transport planes up to 350 troops were driven by bus to various hotels in the region. At least there's one Union that still has the balls to do what it's supposed to do - namely looking after their members. The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) is not a member of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) thank god! It has been confirmed that a representative from the Peace Camp at Shannon will speak at the GAAW public meeting in the Atlanta Hotel, Dominick-street, Galway on Monday (13 Jan). Arrangements will also be made for Saturday's demonstration in Shannon and for other coming activities.
