But to do this requires real moral courage--not the operatic kind that politically correct Germans so love. ... read full story / add a comment

Low paid workers in Trinity College, who have been denied pensions, arrived uninvited at Mary Harney's official opening of a new facility in the college today (Monday Dec. 2nd). When she had finished speaking a group of SIPTU shop stewards took off their coats to reveal t-shirts with "27 years work - no pension". 161 employees were named in a successful case for pensions for part-time cleaning, catering and secretarial workers. Another 137 staff who were not named have been denied pensions. The government has refused to allow the employer to give pensions to those workers not named - which includes one woman with 27 years service! This has been going on since 1997, would such an injustice happen to a TD? Silly question. ... read full story / add a comment
