As he ran a gauntlet of over 200 protesters this morning Henry Kissinger elder statesman, Nobel Peace prize winner and suspected war crimainal, also ran a gamut of emotions and expressions. He went from defiant, getting out of his chauffeur driven limo as a group of around 100 protesters ran to greet him, through appearing dazed and confused by the barrage of noise and bodies which enveloped him and on to cowering and asking 'how could this happen?' as a further group of 120 students awaited him inside the building where he is giving a keynote speech on expanding the irish economy to a group of senior Irish business and political figures. He has still to leave....... ... read full story / add a comment

While the article does not take sides on the issue of abortion, it points out that, while other countries are debating or are in the process of changing their bioethics legislation to take into account the recent advances in biotechonologies, the proposed bill contains a loophole that would legalise human stem cell research in Ireland by suggesting that human life starts "after implantation in the womb of a woman". ... read full story / add a comment
