Conservative MP Nick Timothy frets that Net Zero makes Britain vulnerable to sabotage by China and Russia. This misses the point, says Ben Pile. With self-harming policies like Net Zero we're our own worst enemy.

The Conservatives have told Keir Starmer that "it is not far-Right to stand up for the victims" of child sexual abuse and that "smearing people who raise those issues is exactly how this got covered up in the first place".

Justin Trudeau has resigned, having lost the confidence of his party. This is bad news for Starmer and another sign electorates are fed up with radical progressive zealotry dressed up as technocratic managerialism.

offsite link Get Ready for Four Years of Sneering Mon Jan 06, 2025 16:01 | David Craig
Get ready for four years of foam-flecked anti-Trump sneering and fury from the British media, predicts David Craig. The more successful Trump is at growing the U.S. economy, the more unhinged it will be.

Part of a series of public workshops by Transparency International Ireland

Transparency International Ireland marks the launch of the Corruption Perceptions Index with a public workshop on how corruption can be measured.

Attendance: Free and open to the public
Venue: Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, Dublin, Ireland

Contributors:
Gillian Smith (Researcher on perceptions of corruption, DIT)
Professor Gary Murphy (Dean of Academic Research, DCU)
John Devitt (CEO, Transparency International Ireland)

The Corruption Perceptions Index is published annually by Transparency International and measures international business and expert perceptions of levels of public sector corruption around the world. Our workshop contributors will offer their practical insights and experiences on what it says about Ireland; how Ireland is viewed around the world; how ethical our public officials and business people are; and what our leaders can do to improve trust in them.

this seems more like advertising than anything,im not sure of the true interests here..just like the ombudsman of the bank who did the stress test on the banks, just before the recession, and stated''everything was fine'',he was paid by the banks to state this, corruption from the top, where there is a CEO ,there is NO credibility ..
