1917-1981 sacrifice remembered. The 22 Irish Hunger-Strikers who died between 1917 and 1981 are to be commemorated at a Dublin function on Saturday 8th May 2010. Hi !

This function took place , as planned, on Saturday May 8th last , in the 79'r Pub in Ballyfermot, Dublin , and was over-subscribed!
The doors had to be closed at 10.30pm to new entrants , a new book of raffle-tickets had to be acquired very quickly, and the on-site 'shop' done fantastic business.
The 22 men were remembered in song and speech, and an up-date on the conditions being endured by republican prisoners in Portlaoise and Maghaberry was given to the approximate 200 people in the audience by RSF President, Des Dalton.
