Communities Against Cuts Galway March

Saturday- 17th of October- 12.30pm- Assemble The Catherdal- Leaving for Eyre Square-1.00pm.

Following on from the Communities Against Cuts demonstration held in Dublin on the 30th of September in which close to 15,000 people marched to voice their resistence to the savage cutbacks being visited upon the Community Sector, a March is being held in Galway.

Community workers, activists and ordinary people will protest against the current round of cuts and the further cuts proposed in the McCarthy Report (Bord Snip Nua).

Amongst the many savage cutbacks in the Community Sector being recommended by the McCarthy Report is 6,500 job cuts in the Community Sector, which will devastate the Community Sector.

This March is being organised by SIPTU & IMPACT with the support of Action For Equality Galway, Galway City Partnership, Ballybane Community Forum, Galway Volunteer Centre, Galway Community Forum. Those that work in the Community Sector, those that avail of the work the Community Sector carries out, and those that support the Community Sector are urged to attend this March to express your outrage at the cutbacks on the Community Sector.

A poster is available (please print it and circulate it if you can)
