These images provide a sense of some of the atmosphere of this very significant protest.
It marked the will of the communities and supporters to up the millitancy right in the face of the trade union movement.
There was no question in anyone's mind what the way forward was. The challenge has been put up to the Irish Trade Union movement who were there in considerable force if they will back millitant action.
