category dublin | environment | event notice author Friday May 15, 2009 10:59author by Dublin Shell to Sea - Dublin Shell to Sea Report this post to the editors

Dublin Shell to Sea are delighted to invite all our supporters to enter our second Revolutionary Kick-Off, a five-a-side soccer tournament. While teams are generally based on involvement in political campaigns or organisations but its not in any way essential and individuals are very welcome to register and play on a S2S team. Apart from raising much needed funds for Dublin S2S, the tournament promises to give all participants a great day out and provides lefties with an opportunity to engage in some healthy competition away from the ballot boxes. :)

Last year saw teams from Connolly Youth Movement, Workers Solidarity Movement, Eirigi, The Socialist Party, The Irish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, Irish Republican Socialist Party, Republican Sinn Fein, Sinn Fein, Seomra Spraoi and our eventual winners Dublin Bus, along with a number of individuals.

This years event will be held on Saturday the 20th of June at 12pm. Venue details will be provided upon registration. Entry is €10 a head and we will be finishing off the day with a Trad Session in town.

We would encourage all groups to try and enter teams in the competition, however as we need to reserve pitches and playing times in advance, all teams and individual players must register by the 13th of June by emailing [email protected]. Early registration is appreciated. For further details or questions I can be contacted on 0876164440.
