Peter De Mott (1947-09), peace activist from Ithaca, New York State died tragically last Thursday in a work accident. A Vietnam veteran, he was heavily involved in the Catholic Worker movement and non-violent, anti-war protest. He leaves behind his wife Ellen and a young family of four daughters. The eldest girl, Marie-DeMott Grady, is currently a fourth Year student on the BA Irish Music and Dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick.
As well as being time of personal loss, this is also obviously a time of financial strain for Marie and her family. This performance by staff and students at the academy will be wonderful night of entertainment (there’s talk of a raffle) as well as a real help for Marie and her family.
