What we have seen in Starmer since July is a petty, inhumane, almost spiteful man who considers himself morally superior to the mass of humanity. This, says Dr David McGrogan, was confirmed in spades yesterday.

"You?ll never be wasting our time," reads the Prevent poster. So why did the anti-extremism programme fail to stop the Southport killer, who had been referred to it three times? He's not the only one, says Charlotte Gill.

offsite link Trump Withdrawing From the Paris Climate Agreement May be an Epoch Defining Event Wed Jan 22, 2025 07:00 | Ben Pile
Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement feels like an epoch defining event. Yes he did it before, says Ben Pile, but this time is different. The world now is waking up to the folly of Net Zero.

Congrats to TU for organising this protest. I'll publicise it.

The names of the ten investors must be released. How could releasing their names endanger any possible criminal proceedings? Does Biffo think that we are all fools?

The two issues are not the same. I have no issue with people paying for their own pensions, however, there is an issue of equity for those who are on low pay. I myself earn less than the average industial wage wage am in my early forties and don't have a pension. I would like to have the pension enttlements that some in the public sector enjoy. I stress " some" but not all. This is a direct result of the PD zeal to slash taxes, which the unions had very little to say about during the so-called boom. The unions are very much part of the inner circle and not the force-for-good some naively believe they are.
On the banks: criminal sanctions should apply. I have worked with people who have ended up in jail for stealing a Mars bar. CAB should be employed to get to the bottom of the fraud.
There is a greater global crisis so I'm not sure what these marches will achieve under these circumstances.
Inner circle=Dáil, Unions, and so on.
