Sabotage![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Faxes flooded by saboteurs Copies of a Shell2Sea document and a Kilcommon parish document have been faxed in vast quantities to clog people's fax machines and create ill will toward opponents of Shell. Galway Shell2Sea has been alerted to a nasty bit of sabotage currently in progress. Copies of a leaflet of ours (“Ireland’s Crock of Gold, why did we end up with no national oil company?”), have been flooding businesses, radio stations, trade unions, in hundreds of faxes, clogging people’s fax machines, causing vast inconvenience and ill will towards the campaign. Waterford RTE and the Impact Union in Galway have kindly warned us of the situation, and Impact said that they had heard of many other offices that are being plagued by this malicious nuisance. Clearly somebody feels threatened by any attempt to open up the true history of multi-nationals such as Shell, offshore oil contracts and successive governments. Impact has also been snowed under with copies of a letter about the Corrib Gas Project, sent to Minister Eamon Ryan TD by three priests from Kilcommon Parish, Erris. This latter document had nothing whatever to do with Galway Shell2Sea; we had never even seen it prior to Impact forwarding it to us last week. Has anyone any information as to who might be responsible? |
