Was nothing sinister. A 5 hour outage due to server problem. Was noticed and fixed and underlying problem is being addressed.

Point remains however we (imc) need a system for:

a) notification of server problems
b) an official channel / webpage / mail list that is used for comms in these circumstances - more for re-assurance than anything else... if such an outage was the result of some raid or other sinister developments we'd all know pretty damn quickly that something serious was wrong.

keep da faith!

MostIndymedia sites are held on the .org server

They've been working on upgrading and upkeeping of the system.

This kind of hysteria has happened before.

Websites go down....

There is no conspiracy...
