Galway meeting on Spanish Civil war

Photographic exhibition - The Defenders of the Spanish Republic exhibition

The excellent exhibition of photographs of veterans of the SCW by Pablo Vazqaez Borragan, with extensive biographical information on each veteran by Harry Owens, continues its tour. Each exhibition also has a meeting organised with it.

Harry Owens, who worked with Bob Doyle to produce Bob's bigraphy, will speak in Galway on January 31st in the City Library, Augustine St. This will be a meeting for film, music and talk by Harry Owens being organised on Thurs 31st January from 6.30pm till 8pm.

Harry has been active in raising awareness of the International Brigades for decades and will be well worth hearing.

DEFENDERS OF THE SPANISH REPUBLIC

IMPORTANT: change of date

The lecture and film by Harry Owens is at 6.30om on Tuesday Feb 5th in City Library, Augustine St, Galway, accompanying the display of photos of surviving defenders of the Republic, created by pablo Vazquez Borragan.

These are among the last witnesses who took part in the Civil War and the undreground postwar struggles against dictatorship.For many Spaniards under 60, they remian a part of the history which
was suppressed for two generations.
