Foreign Secretary David Lammy set out "the future of the U.K.'s foreign policy" this week. It's an abysmal vision, says Dr. David McGrogan, but it gives hope that the edifice of 'progressive realism' will soon collapse.

Some actions of humans are so dark that we prefer to ignore them, and may be quietly grateful when truthtellers are censored. But we must stop being willing to overlook the sacrifice of children, writes Dr David Bell.

Those documenting events are as usual receiving threats and intimidation.

John Gormley has used his powers under the National Monuments Acts to make a temporary preservation order for Rath Lugh. The Minister asked NUI Galway archaeologist and Tara expert Dr Conor Newman to examine the site and it was on his recommendation that the preservation order was made "to be absolutely sure that the monument is protected".I approached Mr.Eamon Ryan and asked if he would like to view video footage I had which proved heavy machinery moving through this protected area,he refused.

Anyone else interested?

The photos show the "protected "area of Rath Laugh with fresh heavy machinery track marks .The rock which has now disappeared from site was photographed by Rath Lugh activists and without these images I doubt the existence of it would have been made known .The NRA communications officer threatened the individual/s responsible for entering site to gather images with criminal damage and trespass while at the same time refusing media access .The soutterains were bulldozed that very afternoon.

We live nearby and pass through the effected area very frequently. Indeed, it is hearbreaking to see our land and archaeological heritage so needlessly destroyed by the government and their financial backers. A big thank you to all of you who are trying to stop this utter insanity. You are doing a fine job by bringing this outrage to everybody's attention.
But there is one problem we have with the campaign, and we would like to address this issue. As already stated, we live locally and used to drop in to the Vigil on the Hill and those other campers on Rath Lugh quite frequently during the Summer. But then we noticed that campaigners removed beech saplings from Rath Lugh for fire wood. We simply can't understand, and it's even harder to explain to our two kids, why environmentalists are chopping down trees when there is so much dead wood for the fire on the ground? We are happy that people are campaigning on the ground, but please do not cut those beautiful trees.

The ongoing desecration of Tara is a symbol for the type of country we've become. A country with no soul, no culture and where everything and everybody is for sale. Is this what good men died for?? The era of the plastic paddy has truely arrived!!!!
