The New York Times has run a story which immediately has been taken up globally on the destruction of video tapes by the CIA of an interrogation despite those tapes being potential evidence in Congressional inquiry, hearings or other such grand jury activity. this is the original story on the New York Times |

Oh yep.
As I quipped to a peer today without mentioning either Lisbon, the 500 billion dollars spent since Pablo Escobar or Paisley & Mc Guinness in Washington enjoying the biz interest element of you know the nest feathering processes -
Washington is as much about a few dozen thousand employees who lick ass & want career advancement. All the CIA have got "staring at goat" letters. The Senate intelligence commitee started its investigation since the article went up. Ted Kennedy has spoken! his fellow Mass. Senator referred to the missing minutes of the Nixon tapes - the US Congress now wants an inquiry which we may even get to enjoy on live telly - & President Bush has denied any knowledge of the vid collection.
I'm flabbergasted. It's all happening so quick. You'd swear its weekend release is indicative of nothing else than a long standing agreement to massage public opinion & excuse certain excesses by the most enthuasistic fuck-ups back between 2001 and 2002 who stretched everything "just a tad too far". Yep. This aint a cover-up nor a spilling the beans. This is just in-house management.
let's throw in a half-hearted ·"praetorian guard" way all we have @ 'em. Inquiries! witch-hunts! disclosure!

& naturally it's going to complicate the judicial system in its prosecution of terrorists. I recall telling ye all "they can't prosecute their war" back in 2003. Before they started. Oh well the Irish will be delighted that their closest partners in the shame have just got 4 of their remaining 5 prisoners out of Gitmo. God, it took the brits so long. I didn't mention colombia.

hope I've made myself perfectly clear.
no need for anymore .:. shite.
He had no prior knowledge of plans of destroy the tapes..,

It was him by the way in a former stint who set up the NSA phone call data base. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSA_call_database :: his CV - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Hayden
Thus the bill is sent to the Senate, where it will probably be passed too. Thence it shall go to a desk in the Oval office where the 43rd president of the USA George W. Bush will not only refuse to sign it, but cause it to be archived as an exercise of his presidential veto.
that's the bad news.
Jayshuz you say, why Iosaf our good man, it's all happening the way you said it would, are any of the lick-ass employees who "got too enthusiastic & results orientated" in the interrogation rooms without actually being in the appropriate sections to simulate death going to be hauled in a courtroom soon? In answer, I'd advise you to work your fantasy; their generally as useless in their raw form as a gram of Irish posh totty coke & this whole thing has thus far served very little purpose for our movement which as well as being pretty keen on rights, & fairly unanimous in seeking peaceful resolution to problems also seeks to uphold & expand international law whilst preventing erosion of same {& such} in our great oligarchies. {sorry - democracies} We have not seen the legislation of the US secret services or agencies properly discussed either in the media or the houses of the Congress or Senate beyond moves to ensure the future directors of the NSA & NRC (they do spy sats a bit like google earth but higher resolution) be ratified by the Houses. I mean come on, when the directors don't even know what vid tapes they have & whether or not they're being destroyed, you can't expect their job appointment procedures to bring back human rights any day soon.., merely hope they will be the brush which will sweep away the monster of the federal government's praetorian guards.
But that was the bad news, now let us consider the good news:-
70% of the {declared} intelligence budgets for 2008 have been blocked by the democrats which is within their constitutional power & so that amount of money {which is classified but is estimated by some to be approx 43 billion$ or just short of the state of Ireland's budget} but with a condition - the House and Senate intelligence committees are briefed on Israel's Sept. 6 air strike on an alleged nuclear site in Syria. Oh well now. I didn't mention that one before because quite simply I expected the Senators' political game to focus on a massive bit of jungle where they grow coke rather than go back to the now-well-past-boring Hariri's game of assassination & skullduggery on the short dusty road from Damascus where we all traditionally have our epiphanies & conversions. I'm talking about Saint Paul a.k.a. Saul for the jewish or muslims amongst you.
Anyway - cognitive liberty people like me will not stop bleating & gurggling till we get disclosure on who is authorised to simulate death as part of interrogation, investigation or just simply a dinky way to fill a wet Sunday afternoon in a way which is less difficult than putting flourescent genes in cats.
"The US justice department is to launch a criminal investigation into the CIA's erasing of videotapes of interrogations of two al-Qaeda suspects.---"

The New York times now moves on to CIA with-holding of vital information to the 911 commission.
