Irish Facists Get Their Day In Court

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday November 26, 2007 18:25author by Ngomo Abele Sakala Report this post to the editors

Irish Facists sentenced to prison.

The Celtic Wolves Summer camp came to an abrupt end when Gardai arrive on the scene in Wicklow on September 9th last. Six pissed nazis were sat around a camp fire in the Ballinastoe woods wearing Doc Marten boots and combats. Flags decorating the campsite included an Afrikaner supremacist flag, a swastika, a celtic wolves flag (a tricolour with a celtic cross and wolf on it) and a plain old celtic cross on a black background. When the Gardai arrived and instructed the assembled group to move on the three non-irish Celtic Wolves!!!!!!!!, duly obeyed. The three Irish were more reluctant (or more pissed) and failed to move. All six were cahrged with distribution/possesion of material that was threatening and abusive and other public order offences. The foreigners Miroslav Dombai, Frantisek Janostak and Frantisek Julius had their charges dismissed. The Irish were convicted Denis Kavanagh 32 of 58 Main Stree, Wicklow got two months in prison and fined 600 euros, Kieran McNeill 19 Clonthread, Moate, Co. Westmeath got the same both appealed and were released on 3000 euro bail. Jack Cummins Ballyfaskin, Ballylanders, Limerick had his case adjourned to December 5 after a medical cert was handed in on his behalf.

Follow the action at Wicklow District court on December 5th when the last of the accused appears again.

I suppose to protest cowardly criminal assaults carried out by uniformed thugs against Rossport, republican, RTS protestors etc is to "cry foul if a Garda so much as looks at you."

People were laughing at the uselessness of these morons either because;

a/ they can''t hold a piss up on a mountain without drawing attention to themselves or
b/ they have a police tout(s) in their tiny ranks.

Anti-fascists do not cheerlead the cops - we leave that to the likes of you.

I find it strange that so many support the arrest of these people and seem to love the chance to fight in the streets with them but then cry foul if a Garda so much as looks at you.

Double standards I call it.

Oh and urinating in public isnt a victimless crime if its your house / shop / etc that smells and has too be cleaned up. Try being an adult or buying nappies next time.

How can anybody on IndyMedia support the arrest of these idiots?

Yes we don't agree with their message, but people some people don't agree with all of our messages and they want us to be arrested. We should not arrest people we don't agree with we should try to educate them and if they can't be educated let them be. Passing laws that restrict freedom of speech and arresting people because of it is not something to be celebrated by us even if we don't like the people arrested, even if what they say is rubbish. It's against the constitution and lets home one day they don't get 51% (of the 20% of Irish who vote) to ban anti-shell material. Remember, voting in laws to use against 'them' can one day be used against us.

I just want to say well done to Ngomo for posting this...the more we know about these types and their activities, the easier it will be to keep them down. Well done!

The photos are interesting...were the faces covered by indymedia?

These 6 sad acts don't look much like a master race to me. If you can stomach it, visit their web-site and see how they take their pathetic little fascist theories SO seriously. I wouldn't give them the credit of dignifying them as political players of any significance. Ignore them and they'll go away/grow up/get a job/get laid. Eventually.

As I said, do it at the Hellfire Club next dark night, celtic wolvies - preferably in the pelt so if any AFA interlopers happen upon youse they'll take one look and scatter towards goetterdaemmerung.

Its obvious that AFA or any Anarchists had no prior knowledge to this little gathering of theirs. The CW should thank themselves lucky, that the cops broke their camp out up and not antifa.

Were any anarchists aware that this gathering was happening? if so it should have been the AFA that broke up their little party not the police!

This article raises more questions than it answers, and not least:
What were the six charged with?
What were the two convicted of?
What evidence was presented in court to prove that these men represented any real threat to anybody?
Did either of the two convicted express an intent to appeal?

Am I right in thinking that the two Irishmen were convicted of being drunk and disorderly, and refusing to obey a Garda? (And the three foreigners left off because they obeyed the instruction to leave the place?)
If so, the case reminds me of the bold anarchist comrade who was convicted of urinating in a public place before the demo at Baldonnel last year: an abuse of an irrelevant law to convict a political activist for a victimless crime; a trumped-up pretext to infringe his constitutional right to express his political convictions.

Can libertarians and socialists afford to cheer and jeer when the Garda interfere with freedom of assembly and of expression, even when the political convictions expressed at the assembly in question are (apparently) repugnant to us?

Is the Garda there to protect us from acts of violence, e.g. actual racist attacks, or to police the political debate between libertarians, socialists, nationalists, fascists and Nazis, etc.?

Best,
Coilin.

Previous pictures posted by the Celtic Wolves themselves have shown them wearing balaclavas, giving nazi salutes and bearing knives and clubs. Perhaps the next time they have a sleep over they'd do better to talk about girls they like, give each other makeovers and tell scary stories about the time AFA broke up their meeting.

Interesting to see the CWs emerge again. They are certainly good at running, thats why they are called the master race. They might also be called the Celtic Birds because they certainly sang like canaries when they were confronted in a Dublin pub last year. They then ran like startled rabbits up and down O'Connell Street.

Perhaps they want a return engagement?
