(SPOKEN WORD)

WEDNESDAY NOV 21
LAUGHTER LOUNGE. EDEN QUAY

DOORS 8pm. TICKETS €15 FROM ROAD RECORDS, CITY DISCS, SOUND CELLAR & SPINDIZZY & ONLINE AT www.tickets.ie/umack

Former Dead Kennedys vocalist Jello Biafra is doing a spoken word show in Dublins Laughter Lounge on wednesday nov 21. Through constant scrutiny of the world's media his spoken word shows highlight the important, and often disturbing events in American and world politics that the mainstream media chooses to ignore.

Most of Biafra's life has been spent at the forefront of American counter culture. He ran for mayor of San Francisco in 1979 at the age of 21 and in the late eighties he was prosecuted for "distributing harmful matter" - a charge which stemmed from including a H.R. Giger poster entitled "Penis Landscape" in the Dead Kennedy's Frankenchrist album. The trial proved to be one of the biggest censorship cases in the history of the state. His new album "In The Grip Of Official Treason" is available now on Alternative Tentacles

It was two years ago at least ,the rest of the band played the same weekend at T.B.M.C.with different singer of course.
Some had hoped for a reunion others a showdown ,no such luck.
Jello had initially been refused entry to Ireland but unfortunately the customs reneged and he was free to come and bored us all with his patronizing bullshit ...
Said woman in an attempt to stay conscious asked a few questions such as "where did you get that shirt" as he sported a rather expensive looking silk pokadot garment (not the best for camouflaging a beer gut)

But when she asked " how did you get so fat ? keeping all the royalties from the rest of the band ?.."
It took 3 security to lift her out and the bouncers after letting her in for free tut tut .

Hmmm maybe theres still time to catch him tonight. Old Fart.

this could be great but just to let yus know i went to see jello biafra in dublin , i think it was last year. he showed up 45 minutes late, told us everything we already knew about the iraq war and asked security to throw out a girl who heckled him prompting a walkout by several members of the audience. at that point he told everyone they could get a refund if they wanted to leave. i left at the interval. seemed he was going through the motions. hope you fare better.
