There are those who truly care about our heritage~ Is it too late for Tara? Is it too late to save the Center of Ireland? I have recently discovered a letter written by a young man who is willing to do battle with those who would deface the sacredness of our people. You decide if the battle is by Intellect, or if it is by sword. |

As can be seen at the following address, Louise Arbour (UN High Commissioner for Human Rights), who was a judge at one time in her life, is among a selection of people who were informed last Tuesday (20 Nov 2007): http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.co...l.htm
In addition, a selection of media organisations and personalities were informed (regarding a different aspect of the same basic problem) last Friday (23 Nov 2007), and Geraldine Kennedy (Irish Times Editor) heads the list on the reproduced copy of the e-mail used at: http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.co...l.htm
As I see things there are two main components to the "unconstitutional legislation problem" in question:
1) The fact that such legislation can (and obviously is!!) getting signed into law in the first place - despite the several safeguards which are built into Bunreacht na hEireann (Constitution of the Republic of Ireland) for preventing it;
and,
2) The fact that once it has inexplicably got through the several safeguards, the unconstitutional legislation in question cannot (in practice) be removed apparently - even though straightforward procedures and facilities exist (on paper, and on at least one of the Government's own web sites) for doing so.
"Something is rotten in the State of Denmark" - and VERY rotten, I would say.
There is a lesson in this for the Tara campaign. But ‘Is It Too Late For Tara?’ Related Link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/savetara/message/3198 well Colm M. has the right attitude, there is a lot at stake, victory will have to be fought hard for, no quarter should be given, it could mean getting messy, it has to be, for at Tara there is a fundamental clash of principles, where the instigators of this conflict have invested much in, are not prepared to move from and are willing to use every trick in the book to maintain. I do believe in years to come, the M3 project will be seen as a watershed moment in the Irish identity, mentality and balance of power. That is the legacy of Tara.
And in reply to what not so indymedia edited out, I appreciate your honesty William, I also appreciate your condition (I think it will be too much of me to ask in public how it was induced) however I know that a fear-based psychosis can be induced on those who penetrate the normal levels of daily existence, discover the truth and will not be silenced nor compromised in any other way. Unfortunately once diagnosis is passed; it conveniently negates any truths the increasingly desperate subject may find. There lies the problem, because of the diagnoses the core truth is ignored, in order to prove their case the subject becomes increasingly isolated as they draw upon more tenuous evidence to prove their case, this stimulates psychosis to produce exaggerated claims. All this ‘noise’ adds little but masks the original core truth and in fact runs the risk of opening the subject to ridicule. Here is the irony, the more evidence that is provided, the less it is believed and hence conspiracy theories arise.
History shows the Soviets used ‘madness’ as a diagnosis to silence dissidents; cults play ‘mind games’ to ostracise non-conformists; tortures use fear and confusion to ‘break’ prisoners; the media use ‘ridicule’ when conducting a witch hunt; Politicians use ‘noise’ to hide bad news and corrupt policy.
It is not the evidence that is believed, it is the reputation. Destroy the reputation, destroy the evidence. This is politics; this is why there should be an independent and transparent judiciary. But then again those on the judiciary have the greatest motivation to be private and keep their reputations intact. I wish you luck William.
Louise Arbour (UN High Commissioner for Human Rights) was informed today regarding the difficulties relating to the destruction of ancient heritage sites at Tara.
As some will already know, Ms Arbour's United Nation's job provides her with a "broad mandate to promote and protect all human rights: civil, political, economic, social and cultural". (For more see http://www.ohchr.org/english/about/hc/index.htm )
Yes: "CULTURAL" please note - which leaves no doubt at all that the United Nations sees cultural issues are HUMAN RIGHTS issues: as well they should (in my view).
For anybody interested, Ms Arbour is first in the "CC" section of the e-mail used today - which can now be viewed at: http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.co...l.htm
As can be seen at the above address, an effort has been made to stress the CORRUPTION aspect of the whole Tara situation: which I (and MANY others) have long believed has been the key underlying cause of the whole Tara "problem" throughout.
Finally, for those who may not yet know, Ms Arbour will be giving a lecture it seems in the Public Theatre, Front Square, Trinity College Dublin on Friday 23 November 2007 at 10 am. (For more information on this please see http://www.indymedia.ie/article/84853#comment212801 )
Title of Lecture: "Responsibility to Protect as a Duty of Care in International Law and Practice".
"PROTECT": just what the doctor ordered!!
Here is a link to one of our own sites with a recent video of a speech by Kathy Sinnott.
I must say that much of this has gotten off track.
The letter, if any of you have read it, really speaks to the issue and is passionate, well written, and filled with love for the island.
Meath Man, you know you are wrong, for you know as I do that in Ireland when one gets near the truth the conspirators stand defiant and unashamed.
and may they fuk your mother, because it's a long time since she has seen your father and I am sure its well overdue
it may sound rude but it is the same thinking as you
So once again we have to thank the spirit of Teamhair the Spanish Princess and foundress of Tara for her intercessions.
The road will be built with Spanish Gold Hurrah!
For it is long overdue and may it be named in her honour.
The Irish legal profession is dominated by members of Knights of Saint Columbanus, brother organization of Knights of Columbus, founded in America and patronized by the Kennedy’s. The Columbanus themselves are very closely aligned to the Spanish founded Opus Dei, whose members also hold prominent positions in the Irish legal profession and are senior economists throughout Europe and Latin America. The private finance for the M3 comes from Spanish and Latin American banks. The Chairman of Spanish contractors Ferrovial , Rafael del Pino, is a member of Opus Dei; Ferrovial CEO of the M3 project, Enrique Díaz-Rato, was educated and still closely associated with the Universidad de los Andes in Chile, an institution founded as a corporate work of the apostolate of Opus Dei; the chairman of the M3 Irish contractors, SIAC, is UCD educated solicitor Ciaran Feighery.
So what do you think is happening in Ireland?
What it looks like to me is that the middle and lower ranking members of the Republic of Ireland's legal profession are afraid, for some reason, to challenge their more senior colleagues: even though the Tara issue clearly appears to involve outrageous violations of Bunreacht na hEireann (the Constitution of the Republic of Ireland) - a fact that nobody I know of disputes.
For all I know of course, it may also be the case that, in turn, the more senior members of the Republic of Ireland's legal profession are afraid of something themselves?
It's well know, for example, that there are some extremely shady characters involved with PPP (Public Private Partnership) projects such as the M3 Toll Road planned for the Tara area; and, that some of them also happen to be EXTREMELY powerful and influential. In addition, they operate on a GLOBAL basis (which of course takes in the European Union territory). For more on this point, please read some of the articles available through the following link http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=PPP%2C+Swindles%2C...earch
Anyway, the one thing that seems entirely clear is that the whole business STINKS, and desperately needs to be thoroughly investigated (in my view) - as a matter of URGENCY.
As I believe that everyone's "rights and freedoms" in the Republic of Ireland are being violated by the destruction of some of their most important heritage sites, AND please note, by the destruction of their CONSTITUTION (Bunreacht na hEireann) as well, it seems to me that Article 13 of the "European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003" now needs to be VERY rapidly wheeled out onto the Republic of Ireland's political stage: and used in a responsible manner.
As you may already know, Article 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003 (Republic of Ireland) reads as follows:
"Everyone whose rights and freedoms as set forth in this Convention are violated shall have an effective remedy before a national authority notwithstanding that the violation has been committed by persons acting in an official capacity."
The full text of this Act is available at http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2003/en/act/pub/0020/pri....html
Thank you William for weighing in on this.
It is curious where many of the thoughts have gone to.
It's probably not too late to stop the further destruction of extremely important heritage sites in the Hill of Tara area: if, that is, something of significance could URGENTLY be done about the rampant corruption in our legal profession.
The matter of Tara (among other things) has been raised with our Chief Justice John L. Murray in the letter sent to him (by me) through the registered post on August 28th last, part of which (please see last page at the first Internet address provided below if interested) reads as follows:
"The 'extremely serious legal problems' mentioned above refer to the fact that the 'law' being used to destroy the ancient heritage sites in question, i.e. our National Monuments (Amendment) Act 2004, is in all probability UNCONSTITUTIONAL: in other words ILLEGAL." (Full text of letter at http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.co...r.htm )
The problem outlined in the paragraph just above is what lays at the heart of this whole long-winded and long drawn-out heritage protection problem, and it has been there ever since the Act in question was produced in 2004 by the Republic of Ireland's "elected representatives": and which, under the terms of the Republic of Ireland's Constitution (Bunreacht na hEireann) had to be signed into law by President Mary McAleese, who is herself a lawyer of course; and, who also (as President) has first-class facilities for blocking legislation that appears to be in any way shaky (constitutional-wise).
As far as I know, the above-mentioned problem relating to unconstitutional law can ONLY be remedied by the legal profession in the Republic of Ireland; and, for reasons best know to themselves, the most senior members of the legal profession in the Republic of Ireland appear to be completely opposed to providing any such remedy. By way of evidence for this statement, please note that I have not received any reply from Justice Murray to the registered letter I sent to him dated August 28th 2007 - a fact which speaks for itself, I feel.
And, when added to a whole host of other facts I know of, leaves me in no doubt at all that the Republic of Ireland's legal profession is red-rotten with corruption - from head to toe.
