Foreign Secretary David Lammy set out "the future of the U.K.'s foreign policy" this week. It's an abysmal vision, says Dr. David McGrogan, but it gives hope that the edifice of 'progressive realism' will soon collapse.

Fresh Evidence of Institutionialised Corruption within Royal Dutch Shell

category international | anti-capitalism | news report author Saturday November 10, 2007 13:05author by Soundmigration Report this post to the editors

Doing the dirty again!!!!

Whilst we have come to expect little else for corporations like Royal Dutch Shell, yesterdays fines imposed on rogue traders trying to fix the price of natural gas clearly show that such companies are rotten to the core, solely driven by profits and greed and have little or no interest in social respondsibility.

These guys run cartels daily that effects all of us.

"Five Royal Dutch Shell PLC energy traders will pay a $1 million total penalty to settle civil charges that they tried to manipulate natural-gas prices in 2001 and 2002.

The federal Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Friday that the current and former traders at Shell's Coral Energy subsidiary would pay the fine.

Coral's name was changed in September to Shell Energy North America.

The traders, Denette Johnson, Courtney Cubbison Moore and Robert Harp of Texas and John Tracy and Kelly Dyer of California, agreed to pay the fine without admitting or denying the allegations.

The CFTC had charged that the traders submitted dozens of false reports on natural-gas prices and supplies to trade publications and directed traders to report prices in a way that would improve their trading positions......"

This is the link to minutes of Royal Dutch Shell meeting, Jul 22,23 2003.

On reading, please bear in mind that Thomas Botts, Shell E&P Europe met with Bertie Ahern on 19 Sept '03 following which a meeting was arranged with An Bord Pleanála - following on from which 'permission' was granted without an Oral Hearing.

Should have added that relevant Corrib bit is in top para, p3.

When one considers that that was recorded in the minutes, one can only imagine what $hell suits said to Bert when they came to play hardball!

Should also have emphasised that this meeting was of the Committee of MD's of Shell - the lot FFers and Co. still tug the forelock to even though the following year, Philip Watts resigned over false accounting procedures per SEC rules for recording oil/gas reserves.
