Afri Hedge School in Erris, Co. Mayo

category mayo | environment | event notice author Thursday October 25, 2007 10:18author by Susan Hensel - Afri Report this post to the editors

A Gathering to Explore Resource Extraction

Afri, an organisation which seeks to promote debate and influence policy and practice in the field of human rights, peace and justice issues, is holding its 8th annual Hedge School on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November 2007 in Erris, Co. Mayo.

This years gathering will look at vital issues arising from resource extraction, both locally and globally. Extracting natural resources has become a particularly controversial issue in Mayo recently, but it is important and contentious all around the world. The event will be looking at themes such as ecology, solidarity, resistance and dialogue. But there will also be music, drama, good food, fun… and an intriguing session entitled ‘the goat in the flow station’!

For further information on the event please contact Afri via email: [email protected] or phone 01 882 7581, or check out our website:
