Recently my local library (Drumcondra) cleared out many of its long, long-standing stock of old and (intellectually) valuable history books. Many would be out of print and not generaly available. Most were borrowed fairly regularly.
On enquiry, I was told they had been transferred to other libraries. I sincerely hope they are not being dumped into some car boot sale in Pearse Street.
They are discontinuing reference and children's books.
*worth a look see*.
Of course our libraries are one of the few democratic institutions left.............
many bookshops are full of airport novel trash and you really have to root around
to find a good book.
There may be more info on the attatched links at the top of page, otherwise
ye can ring Pearse Street library and ask " Dear librarian, what is a discontinued line"?
and Print response here>>>>
