A larger than usual crowd turned out for the annual Vol.Tom Smith commemoration, despite the poor weather and the many distractions of the Saint Patrick's festival.

The speeches reinforced the sentiment of the crowd, that commemorating the sacrifice of activists like Tom Smith is as important today as it ever was.

If he was alive today, would Tom Smith agree to any principle being used to stop any Irish Republican working for the establishment of the Republic?
