category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Tuesday March 06, 2007 21:38author by r. Report this post to the editors

Solidarity Demo for Ungdomshuset this Friday, meet 2pm at St. Stephen's Green
Demonstration for ungeren in copenhagen
Demonstration for ungeren in copenhagen

The eviction of Ungdomshuset last thursday has sparked several days of riots in protest. The police have responded by carrying out extreme repression on activists and radicals, including illegal raids against peoples homes, and an attempt to shut down ABC Copenhagen, a prisoner support network by arresting their activists and seizing their files. Many people have been arrested and face long prison terms. This is a clear example of political policing against radicals in Copenhagen. People all over the world have shown their support for Ungdomshuset and those arrested in the protests.

Show your support for Ungdomshuset and political prisoners. Join the Solidarity demo.

some quotes, "In addition, unfortunately, there is a group of ‘autonomists’ with no interest in cooperating with any politicians", " Also, the “leadership” of Ungdomshuset was more focussed on getting in the media than organising the protest movement.".....oh if only they had leadership.....

It's organised by friends of people who live in copenhagen and use the centre, not by any group or party or anything.
