Much needed funds being raised for social movements.
In the past two weeks Electronic Resistance has hit the city with two successful gigs raising cash for the Boycott KillerCoke campaign and the Shell to Sea struggle.
Both gigs were packed and people went away having had a good night out with the knowledge that not all their cash had gone to the brewerys, club owners and promoters..
Thanks to Dermo,Krossphader,Scullduggery,DJ Welfare and the Disco Infiltrators for spinning the wheels of steel thusfar..who knows what wonders lie ahead....
E.R About two months ago, several peole involved in activist activity and also in the dance music community felt it was time to give something back-and have a good time doing it!
Thus,Electronic Resistance was born--
With a rich history of alternative culture surrounding it dance music has firmly established itself as one of the cutting edge genres when it comes to a different way of listening to music and of looking at life.
Electronic Resistance aims to bring together all lovers of dance music and in the process raise much needed cash for the many social movements and struggles going on around us that are day by day fighting against the injustices that persist in our society.
E.R hopes to give as many people as possible a chance to be in some way involved in these movements in whatever way, even if its just coming to one of our gigs and having a damn good time as the DJs spin the sharpest choons around, from Electro, Techno, Drum n Bass, Breakbeat, Dubstep and Breakcore ; Downtempo to Uptempo, Minimal to Maximal, and all the intimate variations of Yin and Yang!
So if you're into dance music, into activism or into anything really and would like to come along to the gigs, help us sort them out or get involved in any way, just email [email protected] or join the yahoo group.
The next gig is in Seomra Spraoi on the 24th of February so keep your eyes and ears open for the lineup-its lookin good already!
