Galway continues to protest over the brutalisation of dissent in Rossport

category galway | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Thursday November 16, 2006 19:07author by JD - Shell to Sea Report this post to the editors

Rubbing salt into the wounds

With his contemptible inversion and perversion of events in Erris last Friday, Demsey is rubbing salt into the wounds of the activists who journeyed to Rossport to engage in democratic protest and, were greeted instead with its antithesis : Brown Shirted thuggery in the form of wanton batoning, punching, kicking, treading on, women being tossed over fences like capers, vilication, goading, etc, the list of Gardai brutality and veniality is endless.

Statoil's now back in the frame as regards picketing

Now that he has given his imprimatur to Friday's police riot, Dempsey is actually setting the scene for another potlatch of Gardai violence on the 24th; by wilfully turning the blind eye to last Friday's proceedings, he's giving the wink and nod to further Gardai droogery?.

This pilgrim is actually inciting Gardai violence?.

The Shell Westside Service Station was the recipient of our attentions this evening - somebody up there must like us 'cos there was lifting of the heavy duty rain for the duration of our picket.

No heading off to the pub high stool, afterwards, for the Sinn Fein crew, only another slog out in Barna distributing info leaflets against Harney's proposed selling of a tract of University College Hospital Galway land so as private medicine can profit from tending to the Prada ills of the rich and privileged.

In Galway, the Socialist Party under the able stewardship of Shane, Labour Youth in the form of Eoghan and the stalwarts of Sinn Fein are now the cutting edge, political party support for Shell to Sea.
