Sunday Times targets ShelltoSea campaingner again![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Matt Cooper's Sunday Times have continued their personal vendetta against prominent ShelltoSea campaigner Maura Harrington by targeting here job as priciple of one of the most progressive schools in Erris in an article in yesterday's edition (8th OCtober) . This highly personlised attack is the latest Coopers/Sunday Times attempt at dirt digging against Mrs Harrington. This ongoing issue reared its ugly head first, a few month ago when they attempted to target here over an unproven minor public order offence in connection with a Rossport 5 demonstration the previous summer in Galway. All this stems from an interview Maura did on Today FM with Matt Cooper in which she made the hack journalist look very silly indeed over recent artcles he wrote in the ST which were merely a regurgitation of the usual Shell PR lies. Not happy with this Cooper has through the Sunday Times attempted to amount a dirty campaing of character assasination which could be now heading for the courts with legal advice been sought by Mrs Harrington to defend her good name. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3Just to add that Paul Williams, despite refusing to discuss the allegations he made against the ShelltoSea campaign with local media early last week has come out in yesterdays edition of the SW with even more off the wall rubbish mixed with hysterical gutter journalism in another slanderious pro-shell/state article on the issue. In many ways its so ridicoulous that he has hamstrung himself as a journalist due to the over-top methods he has used to try and smear local people. Another hack that has disgraced his profession!! - not that journalistic standards have ever counted for anything within the O'Reilly publishing empire!!
Amazing no one has set up something like rateyourjournalist.com.
Questions and answers is on tonight and one would be very wary of it decending into a flurry of governemnt and Shell spin on the issue - particualry given how last weeks show was allowed to be hijacked by FF sympathisers!!
