It's been exasperating to watch as, in defiance of the wishes of Western electorates, the cultural make-up of our countries is radically transformed. It's time to scrap the asylum system, says Lionel Shriver.

SOS Children's Villages of Pakistan completely ignores indigenous people of Sindh & Balochistan in 31 years; Punjab main beneficiary

KARACHI: SOS Children's Village of Pakistan is an Organization supposed to be having no political aims but surprisingly this Organization in Pakistan has miserably and completely failed to provide its benefits to the indigenous people of Sindh & Balochistan provinces in Pakistan during its 31-year activities. Instead, more beneficiary of the SOS Village is people of Punjab.

A supplement of the SOS has been printed in a leading English daily (Sept 20) which shows that since 1977, Indigenous people of Sindh & Balochistan have not been benefited the SOS activities so far. The main beneficiary of the SOS Villages activity is surprisingly Punjab. It appears that this Organization has been set up to mainly benefit Punjab and up to some extent NWFP/Northern areas.

For example SOS Villages have been set up in 09 cities from 1977 to 2005. Out of 09 cities, one was Karachi and another was Quetta but no city of Interior Sindh and Interior Balochistan was included to benefit indigenous people i.e. Sindhi & Balochs. However, Punjab is most beneficiary of this facility where such villages set up at least in its 06 cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan & Sialkot during the period. Again SOS Youth Homes were set up in 06 cities. Out of them, one is in Karachi, and another is in NWFP, four in Punjab and again no one in Interior Sindh or even whole of Balochistan. Similarly, in future Projects (under construction) no project is for Interior Sindh and Interior Balochistan (two projects are for Karachi and Quetta) whereas rests two are for Punjab i.e. Faisalabad & Multan. In Planned SOS Children's village, out of 11, only one is for interior Sindh (Jamshoro) when it will be set up, no body knows as in the last year's supplement, Jamshoro was shown as its planned city.
