IDENTIFY this self-styled GARDA

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | opinion/analysis author Sunday October 01, 2006 15:06author by BP Report this post to the editors

When ID is verified, a witness summons to Galway District Court will issue

This character was snapped on 16th January 2004, while at a demo against the EU in Galway.

He was highly aggressive and claimed to be a garda, but refused to identify himself.

He is needed in open court, please help bring him in for questioning.
So shy
So shy

He is getting a witness summons to Galway District Court as soon as I get a verifiable name and address for service on him.

The address could be the station he works from or the divisional HQ of that area.

All cops and court service staff in Galway so far have denied that they know him (but a knowing little smile crossed more than one such face).

If he is not a Garda, then a prosecution for fraudulent impersonation with threats will be on the cards.

Thanks for any (useful) info received.

The court date is provisionally set for 25th October 2006.

That's better
That's better

The original was called the Special Irish Branch, part of London's Metropolitan Police, and was formed in March 1883 to counter the Irish Republican Brotherhood. The "Irish" soubriquet was later dropped as the department remit was extended to cover other threats.

In the so-called 'Republic of Ireland' (a Clerico-Imperialist puppet state under remote-control from Washington, London + Rome) the Special Branch of the Garda Síochána is now called the Special Detective / Spotted Dick or Sexually Dismal Unit (SDU).

The unit is officially responsible for:
1. State protection
2. Monitoring the activities of subversive and extremist groups
3. Investigation of subversion and terrorism
4. Protection of VIPs
5. Protection of cash in transit
6. Provision of armed response
7. Operation of the Witness Security Programme

which, translated into reality, means

These eunuchs make it their business to:
1. = isolate the corrupt church-state burocracy from any consequences for its crimes against the people
2. = prevent any political change, maintaining the conformist party monoculture
3. = selectively focus intimidation and 'heavy treatment' on persons/groups unapproved by the corrupt church-state burocracy
4. = parade around religious relics, popes, visiting war-criminals
5. = reduce capitalism's insurance bills
6. = be the unofficial 'heavy' wing of the monoculture parties
7. = run tout milking stations
8. = trade any info they can glean with foreign spying services (particularly US, Brit, Roman) in exchange for political, financial or other bribes made to the conformist party monoculture in power.
9. = maximise their individual prospects of a 'second wage' working directly as a tout agent for foreign intel services.
10. = deal with drugs, lots of them.
11. = deal with snakes on a plane, or demons.

The Emergency Response Unit, the Garda's SWAT unit, is also part of the SDU." (where SWAT='stupid weapons + tactics', weapons=uzi and tactics=pulling trigger until needs fresh clip)

@ Special, I've heard of the 'Special Olympics', but what does 'Special Branch' mean?

And why don't you just spit out his name + address and we'll see about the chances of dragging him into court? Are you ashamed, or hiding him?

no i just know he is special branch.... got no idea of his name and if you dont know what special branch is..sigh...they have a habit of taking photos and building files....and recruiting grasses

To quote above.....

........"I complained about this, but nobody would listen."

Perhaps you should consider why your fellow protestors wouldn't listen?

Cheers,

Dax

Well, if you won't betray your garda omerta, I'm sure somebody else knows him. He's not the invisible man, and he's not exempt from the due process of law.

BTW, I did hand up his mugshot to the judge (Fahy) on the last occasion and asked that she let the cop witness then in the stand identify this character - however, she refused to allow him see it on the grounds that the photo was not proven to the court (which technically was correct).

Alas, if the judge recognised him she did not volunteer this information to me.

If he's based in Mill Street, then no doubt the local judge would know who he is, but whether she'd admit to recognising him is another question, but probably worth putting to her, just to see her reaction.

Can you not get the judge to aid you in summoning the man.

We were standing on the kerb having a dignified protest and he came over to us. He refused to identify himself when asked, and although I did nothing other than ask him to identify himself, in my usual calm way, he got agitated and grabbed me and pushed me down the street, frogmarching, I suppose, about 30 yards. I complained about this, but nobody would listen. Later I went back up to where I had been standing (as it was a public place) and none of the other cops had a problem with me, or the other protestors standing there, but this guy decided to make himself scarce. Seems to have a short fuse.
