Constitution of Rising Youth /Aiséirí na nÓg

-Rising youth is an organisation of people with the aim of educating the Irish people, in particular the youth, on the Easter rising and its political message.

-That message is to be found in the Proclamation of independence and in the later democratic programme of the first Dail. It is found in the writings and in the lives of men and women such as Connolly, Pearse, Markivitz and Casement. It is a message of national self-determination, democracy, socialism and a sense of common humanity. The revitalisation of the Irish culture is an important aspect to this.

-We believe the Ireland of today, with its social injustice, lack of meaningful democracy, and continuing partition, is not the realisation of vision of the 1916 insurgents. We believe that those who would preserve the present status quo have hidden or distorted the meaning of 1916 for their own ends.

-We believe that through fostering a reappraisal of the Easter Rising, young people may regard their place in the world in a different light and may seek to bring about change.

-We are affiliated to any political movement or party. Membership is open to members of other political organisations.

-We are an open organisation in which new ideas, discussion and initiative play an essential role.

-An annual congress will elect a small officer board to organise the running of the movement.

"-We are affiliated to any political movement or party."

Am I right in assuming there is a "not" missing from the above statement?

Sounds like an interesting gig, I've circulated the details.
